Prosoya Kenya Limited's core business is the processing of ready to eat and ready to use fortified blended foods for the low income segment of the population and quality animal feeds for the small scale farmers.

The company's products are extruded cereal composites that are fortified with macro and micronutrients, vitamins and minerals up to World Food Program and UNICEF standards using indigenous crops and animal feeds that meet FAO standards.

The project will assist the company support small scale farmers commercialise orphaned crops, such as finger millet and sorghum, to meet its raw material requirements which provide the feed for their dairy cattle and pigs.

Project Activities

• Train and provide extension services within the maize, sorghum, pig and dairy value chains on application of appropriate farming practices and better access to inputs. 
• Set up of demonstration farms for silage, dairy and pig farming for use as learning sites.
• Creation and training of new cooperatives and strengthening of existing cooperatives on management, financial literacy, leadership and governance. 
• Capacity building of agrodealers specifically the youth on animal husbandry. 
• Link farmers to value chain actors for access to required products and services. These include, village based aggregators, input providers, financial institutions, insurance companies and offtakers.
